Mickey Mouse enters the public domain on Jan. 1 2024.
This means Disney will soon lose copyright to the original Mickey Mouse - 95 years after his debut.
Public domain means the original artist, creator or company no longer maintains sole control over their work.
That means you, me, and the rest of the world can use, adapt, build and make money off of these works without asking for permission or paying licensing fees.
Every year, a handful of works (books, music, paintings, poems, films and photographs) enter the public domain - which happened to our dear friend Winnie the Pooh by A. A. Milne in 2022.
FAEBL (Free All Eternally Beloved Lore) - a web3 creative studio that is reimagining your favorite childhood characters - pulled from nostalgic books, cartoons & movies in the Public Domain. We’re not creating new IP, we’re reintroducing the most proven, classic characters in history with pre-built fan bases of over millions of people.
Empowering artists and creators to own and create alongside a community of fans that are looking to reconnect with and reimagine their cherished childhood memories.
Our first +18 animated series is currently in development - more details coming soon.
FAEBL seeks to break out the imprisoned mouse and facilitate his return to his rightful place among the hearts and minds of the public imagination - so all who wish upon a star can create a brighter future together.
We've long prepared for anything that comes our way, but we're going to need all the help we can get.
So what are you waiting for?
Let’s Free The Mouse🐭
Through an interactive storytelling experience, you will join The Resistance by owning one of seven FAEBLFIGHTERS and help fight the battle against the evil Walt Deezney.
Our first mission: Free The Mouse
We seek to break out the imprisoned mouse from the Deezney and facilitate his return to his rightful place among the hearts and minds of the public imagination - so all who wish upon a star can create a brighter future together.
We Free The Mouse! ...and continue to fight for the freedom of future public domain characters.
